Pros and cons of Transit Stop: CTA Tracker. app for iPhone and iPad
Transit Stop: CTA Tracker. app good for
This is the only CTA app Ive ever used since I moved to Chicago 4 years ago.
I have been using this app ever since I came to Chicago 3 years ago and its the only one I have ever liked. Its easy to use and if you use some common sense you wont miss your bus. This app and most tracking apps get their data directly from the cta trackers in the buses or trains. So when it says they are 5 minutes away thats an estimate. Depending on traffic it could speed up or slow down therefore arrive before the estimate. The buses that dont show on the tracker just dont have their tracker on, aka a ghost bus again not the apps fault. Its only as good as the cta system allows it to be. So dont let the other reviews persuade you not too use this.
Its straight to the point. I want train times just like I see at the CTA stops. If you like to be organized, on time, and efficient - this is the app for you. Its definately earned its place on my home screen.
Just moved in to Chicago and this app has kept me from getting lost. Shows you maps, approx wait times and routes. Its pretty easy to use. Not perfect, but pretty close. A definite must have when visiting Chicago or getting to know the place.
So for someone who hates getting up in the morning and the cold, this fracker saves me from spending too much time outside waiting for a bus. The only dilemma is that while Ive had no problems before, nowadays it says my bus is approaching and 5 - 10 minutes will pass before it really is approaching. Other than that, the app is really useful.
This app is well-thought out. From the Pick-up spot vs the ETA, to a real-time gps map to track the bus or train to saving your daily routes and organizing them in a separate folder within the app: this app is a useful tool for the commuter. However, my only problem is that it sometimes crashes when you try to load up. It comes and goes. It renders it unusable for days, or weeks even. Its a rarity but aside from that, its great
Some bad moments
This app is the absolute worst. Buses dont show up at the time it says ever or dont show at all. Ive been late to work multiple times because of this stupid app.
This app used to be very handy but for the last few week its been incredibly inaccurate with the bus arrival estimates. Its off by 4-5 minutes, which has caused me to miss my bus in the morning to get to work almost every day.
You moved several bus stops along 22/36 down Clark, south of Diversey. Now, no bus tracking is available for 3+ stops in the area. Shows none coming which isnt true
Until it stopped providing me with information. Like other users, there are bus lines that literally show nothing while buses are running. Unfortunately, this is leading me to consider another app after years of using this one.
This is used to be very accurate but something happened recently and its off by at least 2 minutes. Ive sent you screen shots from your app and from the CTA website showing the same bus route and time but the arrival times were off by 2 min. No response so far which is unlike you. Hope youre just working feverishly to fix the problems everyone seems to be having.
Malicious pop ups have been appearing on this app at least a few times today. Had to uninstall & reinstall & pop ups still appear. So annoying!
